Anna Enouen

October 9, 1937 — February 15, 2015

Please take a moment now to recognize the passing of Anna Marie Enouen, February 15, 2015.
Anna was proud to be a resident on Kraft Ave, in the North Hollywood, CA area for 42 years. She was recognized by neighbors as a friendly, chatty, frail, older lady. She was also recognized as very caring to all living creatures showing concern for their safety, feeding, healing, and shelter. Usually she was seen outdoors tending to her property and “creatures”.
She was known by friends as ‘Anne’, Annie, Waynie, and Wannie.
Anna was born on October 9, 1937 to William A and Helen A Enouen in Pittsburgh, PA., and was raised with 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She is now survived by sisters Helen Rose Chambers of Pittsburgh, PA, Cecelia Agnes Landon of Clermont, FL, Paul William of Norman, OK, and Albert John of New River, AZ. and many cousins, nieces and nephews….real and adopted.
As a child, Anna was always somewhat a ‘Tom-Boy’ and loved physical activities like climbing trees, sports, etc. In fact, it was reported that she was the only girl in her high school woodshop class. Her hero was Roy Rogers. Early after high school, she achieved her childhood dream of becoming a United States Marine, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Also as a Marine she continued her earlier school years activities in the sports of softball and basketball, earning a position as an official USMC softball and basketball team member. She was … to the end…very proud of her military service.
After her military time was completed, she migrated to California and secured a position at Forest Lawn, Glendale, CA as a computer operator in data processing and continued in that position for 20 years followed by another 20 years as a tax preparer/trainer for H and R Block.
Anna remained very independent to the end, living alone after the passing of her long-time companion, Pauline Campbell in 2002 (Aunt Polly to family members). She passed peacefully at home as witnessed by three good friends and relatives.
Anna expressed wishes for no local memorial service…wanted things to be quiet. But she surely loved you all (and all her ‘creatures’). Gifts may be given to animal charities in her honor.
Her remains will eventually be placed beside her Mom, Dad, and a sister near Pittsburgh, PA.
Her last few months of life were lovingly attended by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Enouen of Sun City, AZ. who may be reached for further comment via Angeleno Valley, 5423 Tujunga Avenue, North Hollywood, CA 91601.
