Beatrice Levine

Beatrice Levine passed away peacefully on October 7, 2019 at 97. She was born January 26, 1922 in Brooklyn, daughter of Isadore Bortnick and Rose Strachman Bortnick. Divorced from Jack Wollons (b.1921-d.1986) and widow of Sol Levine (b. 1923-d. 2001). Loving mother of Peter Wollons (m. Karen Ferris) and Roberta Wollons, grandmother to Zachary, Todd (m. Brissa Medrano) and Kory (m. Terena Calton) Wollons, and great-grandmother to Kade and Peri Wollons. She is predeceased by three sisters, Celia Kaufman, Evelyn Rothlein, and Pauline Task. The family also wishes to thank June Hilario for her years of dedicated care for Beatrice over many years.
Bea was a teacher and friend, parent and partner, grandmother, and giver of gifts of heart and hand. We remember her love of family, the children and teachers whose lives she touched, and her lifelong friendships. And we cherish the memory of her sense of humor, her creativity, and style. We will miss her unconditional love, and the warm smile that lit up her face and invited everyone to tell their story.
In lieu of a funeral or flowers, friends and family are invited to leave condolences here. We also suggest making a donation to a research center or organization for the hearing impaired, which was her permanent disability. We look forward to reading your thoughts and memories of our mother.
