A CELEBRATION OF LIFE
From a glorious morning: February 4, 1934
To a peaceful night: September 28, 2020
Mary Alise Wilson, loving mother to Bret Eileen Wilson, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on September 28, 2020 in Los Angeles, California.
The life she lived, loved and shared with family and life-long friends include nieces, nephews and an endearing cousin, along with many extended family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Lee Wilson, her parents Harvey and Sarah Davis, and Mary’s sisters Viola Walker and Doris Davis.
Born and reared in New York, Mary was a graduate of The City College of the City University of New York, earning a bachelor’s degree in Education.
Early on in her career, she became a social worker in New York City, handling a number of family cases, until she decided to become a full-time mother to her daughter Bret.
When her husband Robert started an architectural practice in Stamford, Connecticut, and still having a deep desire and passion to continue helping children, Mary volunteered her time with Family & Children's Services of Stamford, while rearing her daughter.
Other activities Mary enjoyed were traveling with her family, creating art, playing tennis, performing tai chi, tap dancing, in addition to volunteering at Stamford’s Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens.
Mary was a long-time resident of Stamford, Connecticut before moving to Los Angeles to be with her daughter Bret and enjoy the constant sunshine.
My Mother’s Love
With wings that rise and fly through the sky
With love that last, and never to die
I watched you soar through Heaven’s gate
Accepting God’s love as your ultimate fate
And though I cry tears of sorrow
I’ll do my best to try and follow
The life you lived in dignity and grace
Knowing I can’t possibly take your place
And should I ever become despaired
I know I’ll easily be repaired
‘Cause your spirit will be there to mend and console
Once again, making me better and whole
And though I teeter with a bit of fear
Walking this earth without you here
Your love will guide me and never die
Your angel wings will hug me from the sky
And as I try to walk in dignity and grace
I know exactly my permanent place
In my mother’s heart is my ultimate fate
And the love we share, our unwavering state

Dearest Mom,
I love and miss you more than I can ever eloquently express.
Thank you for giving me the immeasurable gift of life and unconditional love.
If I can be just a smidgen of who you were on this earth, then I know I’ll continue
to navigate life well.
Loving you always and forever,
Bret
