He is also survived by his two sisters, Grace Staback and Nery Suchite, and four nephews, Michael, Robert, Tony and Angel and two nieces, Leah and Ruth.
His professional career started with him working for HGS Management Systems Divisions in 1984 and received multiple promotions. During the Spring of 1992, he became the Public Health Disaster Preparedness Coordinator for the County of Los Angeles, CA. He was presented with many awards for his service. Prior to this, he served in different capacities, Assistant to Higher Education Officer at Brooklyn College, Adjunct Lecturer at Medgar Evers College and Kingsborough Community College and University of Panama as a Research Assistant.
As a citizen of the United States his passion was teaching citizenship classes during his early retirement years and continued to teach at night for thirty-two years as an adjunct instructor at Temple City Adult School.
He published two books of poetry, Reflections in 2012 in which he won the “Christian Writers Award” and his second book, “The Restrainer” in 2013. Also, published poems in various magazines.
His passion was poetry, traveling, serving and praying for others and Bible studies. His life reflected his desire to serve the Lord and represent God’s love to everyone he met. Rogelio loved life and served the one who gave him eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Those who have yet to accept and serve him, his prayer is that you will.
“So, we are always confident, because we know that while we are living in the body, we are away from our home with the Lord. We live by faith and not by sight. We are confident, and we prefer to leave the body and to be at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:6-8
