Victor Napoleon Molina of St. Augustine, Florida passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, Florida on December 7, 2020.
Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on May 19, 1938, Victor was the devoted son of Victor and Esther Molina. After completing his accounting education with honors, Victor emigrated to Los Angeles, California in 1962 where he worked as a bookkeeper and achieved the American Dream of starting a family, buying a home, and providing a life of joy for his family that exceeded his wildest childhood dreams. In 1978 Victor joined the ranks of the RTD (now MTA) Los Angeles county public transit system, where he earned accolades as an excellent driver. In the evenings he delighted everyone at the dinner table with stories of the fascinating people and situations he encountered on his routes. “This is 580 Molina reporting on the board” are words forever imprinted on his family’s hearts as they represent his tireless commitment to providing for his household.
Victor was a lifelong student. In retirement he traveled extensively to experience the sights, sounds, and cultures of all the places he’d previously spent precious leisure hours reading about in encyclopedias, atlases, magazines, newspapers, and even dictionaries. Most of all, Victor loved to visit his daughters and grandchildren to enjoy their company and invest in their character. All who knew him were blessed by his wisdom, empathy, and conviviality.
Victor is survived by his deeply devoted wife Zeida; daughters Maria Saldana, Jeannette Molina, Glenda Garcia, Connie (Fabian) Nunez, Michelle (Chris) Grazor, and Monica (Aridio) Gomez; grandchildren Cristian Saldana, Leonardo Saldana, Eduardo Corretjer, Hector Saldana, Solange Corretjer, Joseph Grazor, Andres Corretjer, Daniela Garcia, Teresa Grazor, Gabriela Garcia, Rosalinda Grazor, Enrique Corretjer, Ariela Gomez, Santiago Grazor, Gianna Nunez, Camilla Nunez, and Michael Grazor; siblings Maria Esther Dirnberger, Jimmy Molina, and Jolly Slaby, and many dearly loved cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to the healthcare heroes at Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center.
We love you beyond words, Victor Molina, but we know that you loved us more.
