CMSGT WESLEY L. ROBERTS SR, USAF (RETIRED)
Chief Master Sergeant Wesley L. Roberts Sr., age 83, died peacefully at Kindred Hospital in Southern California on Thursday, June 18, 2015. He was born in Savanna, IL on January 29, 1932, the son of the late Bert and Marie Roberts. CMSgt Roberts graduated from Savanna Township High School in 1949, during which he enlisted in the Illinois National Guard, Company K, 129th Infantry, 44th Division, and continued through into the United States Air Force until 1982. CMSgt Roberts served with honor in the USAF for 30 years. Among his numerous military awards, he received the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Upon retiring from the USAF in 1982, Wes Roberts joined the Northrop Corporation until 1993.
CMSgt Wes Roberts Sr. (Ret.), is survived by the Roberts family, by his brother Harold Roberts of Preston, IA; his three children: Melanie Roberts of DeForest, WI; Wes Roberts Jr. of Anchorage, AK; and Dawn Del Rio of Valencia, CA; and his six grandchildren: Casey and Codey Bingham; Emma, Madeline, Claire, and Autumn Del Rio; and his great granddaughter, Faith Bingham.
A funeral service for CMSgt Wes Roberts Sr. (Ret.) will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery in Southern California on Thursday, July 2 at 12:45 p.m. The obituary is posted on the Angeleno Valley Mortuary website: www.angelenovalley.com.
